Fast fashion retailer Internacionale is one of
thousands of UK businesses using EARNIE software to manage its

Since the Glasgow-based company’s acquisition of 85 stores from
former chain, MK One in November 2008,
its position in the UK market place has gone from
strength to strength.
Now in the first quarter of 2010, and the rebranding of
all the former MK One stores complete, the retailer is
looking to the year ahead with a sense of optimism and
anticipation.
The women’s fashion retailer, which has 150 outlets and 2,500
employees, has
been using EARNIE IQ for the past five years.

The EARNIE team got in touch with Internacionale’s payroll

Ann Campbell, Payroll Manager, joined the team at
Internacionale’s head quarters
in Charles Street in 2005, at a time when the retailer was
outsourcing to a payroll bureau. One of her first assignments was
to find a suitable alternative that would enable the company to
tend to their own payroll in-house.
“Apart from being expensive, both my employers and I felt using
a bureau was too high risk for the cost and administration
involved. If we sent through data containing human errors the
bureau wouldn’t pick up on it and would hold us liable for the
consequences.”
She added: “When it came to choosing software I looked at Sage,
Pagasus and EARNIE and I felt EARNIE had the edge in terms of
functionality and support.
We haven’t used anything else since.”
Ann said she and her team relied on having highly responsive
software to deliver reports to management within an hour of being
asked for them.
“Time and again we use the report generator aspect of EARNIE and
each time it is invaluable. It enables us to tailor our own reports
based on whatever information is required. For example, if we need
gross employers NI we can produce a report just for that. It’s
quick, easy to produce and very comprehensive.”
I have always found the support team incredible helpful. It
makes
an enormous difference to get such good support at the other end of
the phone, particularly when we can be under enormous pressure to
get it right.
