Can I print the Income Tax Calendar from EARNIE IQ?
The Income Tax Calendar is supplied by HMRC and never changes.
To print it in EARNIE IQ, go to Payroll, Change Payroll Date. Click
on the Tax Calendar button.
To print, right click and select Print.
Why do I not have a P60 for some of my
employees?
They are probably leavers. You should only give a P60 to a
person who was in your employment on the 5 April. It is not your
responsibility to produce a P60 for anyone who left before that
date.
Why are leavers appearing on my Quick Report?
Go to the Quick Report Writer. Select the required report and
Edit. On the Options
tab card you will see a 'Which Employees' drop-down list, choose
Current.
What type of printer do you recommend I use with EARNIE
IQ?
Dot-matrix printers need to be Epson compatible and laser ones
need to be HP compatible. We cannot recommend a specific
printer.
Is there anything I can do to speed up my reports?
If your reports are taking a long time to print you can try
doing a rebuild of the indexes which can sometimes significantly
increase the speed of your reports.
To do this you need to log into the Admin side of EARNIE IQ (the
default name and password is admin and admin) and go to File>
Companies> Rebuild Indexes, select the company and click on ok.
You should then get a message stating 'Company indexes have been
successfully rebuilt'.
I have printed my P14s but there are no amounts showing in the
TOTAL FOR YEAR fields for some employees?
These employees will be leavers. HMRC has confirmed for us
that nothing should appear in these fields if the employee is no
longer working for the company.
How do the P14s/P60s print out?
We recommend the 3 or 4 part laser portrait forms. The
P14/P60s print out consecutively, with screen prompts to tell you
when to enter each form.
You need to put all the top copies into the printer first, then
the second copies when prompted and finally the P60s. If you have
chosen the 4 part forms with an extra employer's copy of the P60
this will print out last.
Why is my month-end summary showing zero figures for
everyone?
If you print your month-end using the 'Since last month-end'
option it indicates the report has already been printed or
previewed and month-end processing has been performed. You can
choose to print it again 'Based on Tax Calendar', this will
pick
up any payrolls run in that tax month.
How do I create a BACS file?
Firstly, choose the Bacs report from the library. Go to Reports,
Library Selection, Bank Reports/Bacs. Then go to Reports, Print
Bacs, select pay employees or pay other. Choose the correct
Bacs report and say OK. Select the correct week and month
number, then choose Print or Preview.
When your report has printed EARNIE IQ will have created a file
called Bacsout.000 or Bacs000.txt, depending upon the selected
report, where 000 is the company number. The file can be found in
the EARNIE IQ Output Directory. The Output Directory can be
found by going into Help/About EARNIE and clicking on the registry
button.
