HMRC state that employers who employ
50 or more employees must submit all In Year Movements online from
6 April 2009. For companies with fewer than 50 employees it
will become mandatory in April 2011.

To enable the In-Year Movements
feature you need to follow three simple steps (these are explained
fully in the pages that follow).
- Register with
HMRC for Online Services (if you have not already)
- Tick the Enable In Year Online Services tickbox in File |

- Send a Works Number Update (WNU) to HMRC
Once In Year Movements have been
enabled a new button will appear in the Employee Details |
Tax/NI screen allowing you to enter the P45 or P46
information and then submit it electronically to HMRC.
